CHICHESTER International Film Festival begins today, celebrating the world of alternative and up-coming cinema. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas will be the centrepiece Gala for today's event and will be screened at 6.15pm at the cinema in New Park Road, Chichester.
This fictional film based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne, tells the compelling story of an unexpected friendship between two boys living on opposite sides of a concentration camp fence. Offering a unique perspective on how prejudice, hatred and violence affect innocent people, particularly children, during wartime.
Director Mark Herman will be there to introduce his film and for a Q&A directly afterwards.

HARBOUR Lights Picture House in Southampton is now showing the French film Couscous directed by Abdel Kechiche. Screenings are daily from tonight until Thursday.
Couscous is set among a north-African dockside community and centres on the opening of a floating restaurant.
ABBA fans continue to delight in the opportunity to sing along with their favourite tunes at Southampton's Harbour Lights Picture House. Mamma Mia (Sing Along!) is playing tonight and tomorrow, inviting its audience to get lively. The lyrics are shown on screen encouraging you to join in with the songs.
