CHICHESTER International Film Festival begins today, celebrating the world of alternative and up-coming cinema. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas will be the centrepiece Gala for today's event and will be screened at 6.15pm at the cinema in New Park Road, Chichester.

This fictional film based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne, tells the compelling story of an unexpected friendship between two boys living on opposite sides of a concentration camp fence. Offering a unique perspective on how prejudice, hatred and violence affect innocent people, particularly children, during wartime.

Director Mark Herman will be there to introduce his film and for a Q&A directly afterwards.
