"FLASHPANTS"
I have to say i was really disappointed with this show. I went on the 6th August.
The opening number was shocking, out of tune by the lead and the backing dancers were out of sync big time. As an opening it had a very amateur feel.
I was keen to see that the show did get better as it went on, but there were still elements of out of tune singing, and the dancing (for a dance show) seemed very basic and lack lustre.
I wouldnt pay £25 to see this show again, it felt more like village hall than mayflower theatre!
The music, as always was a delight. And i think the chorus were probably the best element of the whole performance.
I felt at times the staging was terrible, actors simply stood on stage singing a hit number just doesnt cut it for a performance measured next to west end performances.
The sound at times was awful, and we could barely hear the actors through muffled microphones!
All in all, if you can get the cheaper tickets go, if you dont have high expectations go. I would say buy the album from the film!

I saw this show in Plymouth and we must have been watching different shows as the opening number received a massive applause, when Victoria who plays Alex removed her welder's helmet the audience went beserk - the show was slick and the performances were outstanding. The show received a three minute standing ovation at the end which is something I have never witnessed before. It's a shame that you were disappointed. Victoria Hamilton-Barritt who played Alex is a Class Act as were all the other leads.

Victoria Hamilton-Barritt did not perform any of the shows in Southampton due to illness. We booked tickets to see the show and her understudy played the part of Alex.
