MANAGERS and chefs from 31 Hampshire pubs belonging to brewing giant Fullers Smith & Turner met local food producers to plan a series of new menus for a county food festival in July.

Local specials will be on the menu at each of the pubs throughout the Hampshire Food Festival.

Fullers' executive chef Simon Howlett said; "Fullers is not just shouting about local food, but is actively sourcing and promoting local producers; menus will include Hamp-shire cheeses, meat and game, ice-cream and desserts, vegetables and salad. Specials menu boards may feature dishes such as dressed crab, cheese made using Fuller's London porter, wild venison steaks, New Forest reared pork and Hampshire-made ice-cream.

"The pubs will continue to use locally sourced ingredients long after the festival has finished. We are in this for the long-term support of local suppliers."

The Hampshire Food Festival, organised by Hampshire Fare, runs from July 1-31 with 120 different events across the county. For full details, visit hampshirefare.co.uk.
