Talking to the animals?

| ANIMAL MAGIC: Box office staff at The Mayflower have been joined by exotic creatures from Dr Dolittle. |
WITH the latest stage production of Doctor Dolittle heading for Southamp-ton's Mayflower theatre tonight, people buying tickets have found that they too can talk to the animals.
Box office staff have been joined by a variety of exotic characters from the cast including the famous Pushme-Pullyu.
Sales adviser Mark Ponsford said: "It's great to get into the spirit of things. If customers could see what was happening on the other end of the phone they would really be surprised.
"From time to time we have the stars of the show taking over a terminal, and today we were pleased that Pushme-Pullyu could join us.
"You just never know who you could end up speaking to."
Starring Tommy Steele, Doctor Dolittle finds the star of musical theatre appearing alongside a huge company of singers, dancers, and puppeteers in this hit musical. Doctor Dolittle is a renowned vet who speaks a wide array of animal languages. He sets off from his home in Puddleby-on-the-Marsh in search of the Great Pink Sea Snail.
Along the way, he and his friends meet the Pushme-Pullyu and the Giant Moon Moth.
The show opens tonight and runs until Saturday.
