Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour
Game Name: Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour
Genre: Rhythm
Publisher: Disney
Rating: 3+ (PEGI)
Platform: Nintendo Wii
What a fabulous game! - If you're a 10yr old girl with little concept of what actually makes a game good.
For over 70 years, Disney have constantly and consistently provided the public with a wide array of exciting, funny and often emotional visual treats. Hannah Montana is a new addition to the Disney Empire but is already loved by many (mainly young girls), and so it was only ever going to be a short amount of time before it was made into a video game.
For girls, I can see that there would be a draw to this game, after all, it's essentially a rhythm game that involves pretending to sing and dance to Hannah Montana songs. And after you have performed to an in-game audience, you will be able to spend your hard earned cash on clothes.
Hannah Montana contains everything that a fan should expect, but is unfortunately packaged in a game as weak as the guy that used to do the Mr Muscle ads.
A nunchuck is required to play and is used to follow on screen instructions in order to get your digital Hannah boogying away. The instructions come in many different form and range from having to throw your hands in the air to clapping your hands together.
Things are visually tasty, but movement and gameplay is so slow that it makes the whole experience teeter on the edge of frustration and despair. Couple that with the fact that the game seems to often read your movements incorrectly, you have a game that's guaranteed to raise blood pressure.
